Dr. Meyer is the Director of Educational Outreach for Public Partnership and Outreach at Texas A&M University where she focuses on supporting first generation students in the transition from high school to college, rural education initiatives, and teacher professional development.  In addition to PK-16 initiatives, Dr. Meyer supports the University’s continuing and professional education initiatives.
 
Dr. Meyer brings extensive experience in both public and higher education. She has served an Assistant Professor of Science Education at both the University of Houston- Clear Lake and Northern Arizona University.  At both institutions, her specialization was the preparation of pre-service science educators and science teacher professional development where she successfully provided local teachers with sustained opportunities for growth.  Dr. Meyer was also Coordinator of Education Initiatives for the Texas A&M University System where her projects centered on the recruitment and mentoring of STEM teachers. 
 
Dr. Meyer’s public school experience has been in diverse and urban settings in and around the greater Houston area.   She has taught both middle school and high school science and was an elementary science specialist for an environmental science magnet school.  Prior to joining PPO in 2018, she served as a science specialist at Dobie High School, one of the state’s largest high schools, in Pasadena ISD. 
 
Throughout her career, Dr. Meyer has presented at numerous international conferences and consulted in schools across the United States.  She has also served on several state and local advisory boards.
 
Dr. Meyer holds a Ph.D. in Science Education from the University of Texas at Austin, Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction and Bachelor of Science in Wildlife and Fisheries Science, both from Texas A&M University.
