John J. McDermott Memorial Celebration and Symposium

Gathering of former students, colleagues, and friends to celebrate and honor the legacy, impact, and memory of Professor John J. McDermott. The event will take place on the Texas A&M Campus in College Station, Texas, on October 4th and 5th, 2019. Rooms are available at the Texas A&M Hotel and Conference Center at a group rate. 9:30am-3:30pm – Symposium in Hagler Auditorium at Annenberg Presidential Conference Center

Lodging:

The George Hotel is the second option, and has rooms for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night. The code for booking here is DMRB416.
September 13th is deadline for booking at conference rates.
There are several less expensive options available. The following hotels are only a few miles from conference center and have rates that start at $51 dollars a night.

Flights:
Texas A&M owns and operates its own airport, Easterwood (CLL). The airport is located on campus, about two miles from the location of the conference. American Airlines operates five return flights per day to Dallas (DFW); United Airlines operates three flights per day to Houston (IAH).
The nearest international airport is George Bush International Airport in Houston (IAH), which is about 80 miles away. Ground Shuttle offers pre-booked rides to and from the airport for $35. Houston Hobby (HOU), is a smaller airport a little farther away, but it is also accessible from College Station with Ground Shuttle. The international airport in Austin (AUS) is about one hundred miles from Texas A&M University.
 
Parking:
On Friday, Parking is available in the Fan Field lot, which is adjacent to the conference center. For the symposium on Saturday, parking is available in either lot 43 or lot 111.
