Texas A&M University is committed to improving communities through engaged research, teaching and service.
Census 2020 is one of the most important planning tools for communities across the United States. Every 10 years, our Constitution calls for a counting of our population, the results of which then guides resources, planning and commitments for years to come.
We invite each of you as faculty, staff and students to commit to the Aggie Core Value of Selfless Service and help ensure our communities' futures by responding appropriately to the 2020 Census.

Texas A&M’s Public Partnership & Outreach and Division of Student Affairs have partnered with state and regional Census personnel to ensure our faculty, staff and students are reflected appropriately in the “Complete Counts” efforts.
From our branch campus, Texas A&M University at Galveston, to the educational sites in Bryan, College Station, Dallas, Houston, Kingsville, Ft. Worth, McAllen and Round Rock, we urge you to respond. No matter which location of Texas A&M University, you work, study or teach at…You Count
Here is HOW Each of Us Can Help:
Faculty & Staff :
As residents, each of you should have received a mailer from the Census Bureau encouraging each household to report online. Please take a moment to ensure your household data is reflected in your local community counts. You can use the code mailed to your home, or simply visit the website, 2020census.gov
to Respond Today!
ALL Students Living On Campus (or would have been under normal circumstances)
If you are attending Texas A&M University, are living in University Dorms, including 3rd
party partnerships such as White Creek Apartments or The Gardens, or Greek Life Houses, you will be counted as “Group Quarters” for Census Purposes. Our Residence Life leaders will be reporting your residency as of March 1st
, prior to the COVID19 related impacts. You do not
need to log on and respond to the Census at this time. We’ve got you covered. Please remind your parents, guardians or other households you may have been counted in, NOT to Include you in their Response, as you will be counted as of your March 1st
residency on Campus. The COVID19 impacts may have caused some uncertainty in how you should respond. Note that we responded as to on campus residency as of March 1st
Special Note for students residing in recognized Greek Life Houses. Student Affairs reported your residency as of March 1st
. There is no need for Greek organizations or residents of Greek Life Houses to respond individually to Census.
Students Living Off Campus—But NOT with Your Family/Guardian Residence (or would have been under normal circumstances)
If you are attending Texas A&M University, but living “off campus”, your response will be vitally important. The Census responses are by “Household” so we need you to take extra care to respond. Please remind your parents/guardians or other households you may have been counted in, NOT to Include you in their Response.
The COVID19 impacts may have caused some uncertainty in how you should respond. We would like you to consider where your residency would have been under normal circumstances, say on or around March 1st
. We need you to make contact with each of your roommates and determine 1 Leader to report the Census for your household. NOTE: we do not need each roommate to respond, just one per “household”. The designated “household leader” will need the name, birthdate and preferred ethnicity for each roommate in order to complete the Response. Each household leader will then simply visit 2020census.gov
and complete the Response for your household address. Remember the information is private and is only used to support population census forecasting.
Students attending Texas A&M University, but are living at home (under normal circumstances)
If you are attending Texas A&M University, and living at home with your official guardians or parents, please work with your household to ensure you are included in their household reporting. REMEMBER only report this way, if your living situation, before COVID19 impacts, would have been your normal circumstance.
